Three Nigerian stars, Davido,Wizkid and Don Jazzy have made Nigeria proud by falling into the top 10 most followed celebrities in Africa alongside the likes of Akon who basically secured the number one spot on almost all the platforms.According to the African Social Media Power Report, which measures the social media influence of African pop culture stars and football personalities, Senegalese-American star Akon tops the chart, with our very own Davido, Wizkid, and Don Jazzy following up. The list was compiled by Lagos-based sports communication company, CampsBay Media.
The compiled list included followership on various platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. On Twitter, Wizkid secured number 6 position with 3.57m followers, Davido followed at number 7 with 3.08m followers while Don Jazzy came 9th with 2.44m followers. On IG, Davido topped with 5.6m, Wizkid followed with 4.4m, and Don Jazzy with 3.7m.
On Facebook,none of them made it to top 10 in Africa.It seems these guys really run their affairs on IG and Twitter, and don’t seem to contribute a lot to Mark Zuckerberg earnings.However, big ups to them for ruling Twitter and IG.
